While it may cost slightly more upfront, you’re getting better cushioning, comfort, versatility and long-term use, making it a worthwhile investment for a play space your family can enjoy for years.

Because the mat is tightly vacuum-compressed for shipping, it will begin expanding as soon as it is opened. Most of the expansion happens within the first couple of days, however we recommend allowing up to a week for the mat to fully regain its thickness and for any creases to naturally settle. You can still comfortably use and enjoy the mat while it continues expanding.

Temporary creases or fold marks are completely normal and are caused by the mat being tightly vacuum-sealed and folded for shipping. Your mat is not damaged.

In most cases, the creases will gradually flatten on their own as the mat expands and regains its natural shape. We recommend allowing up to one week for the mat to fully expand and for any creases to naturally settle. You can still comfortably use and enjoy the mat during this time.

If you would prefer to speed up the process, follow these steps:

1. Lay the mat flat on the floor.
2. Wet a clean towel and wring out any excess water so it is damp, not soaking.
3. Place the damp towel over the creased area.
4. Using a steam cleaner or an iron on a low heat setting, gently apply heat over the towel in short passes. Never place the iron directly on the mat.
5. Repeat as needed, allowing the area to cool between passes, until the crease softens and flattens.

Once the mat has fully expanded and the creases have been removed, you should not need to repeat this process again.
